Welcome to my first blog post! I have high hopes for this blog....I see it as a way to pass on tips, tricks, hints and information to those of you who read it as well as (if I have this set up correctly) an opportunity for you to ask questions about your sewing and crafting projects and get good answers.
I would deeply appreciate your feedback on the topics I will cover so I know that I am giving you what you need and want. I also hope this will be a forum of encouragment for all of us....I love encouraging people to find their creativity, try a new craft, develop their personal sense of style. And you know, I need encouragement, too. Sometimes sitting at a sewing machine all day gets kinda lonely....which explains how I became an NPR junky! I can recite the line-up from Monday to Sunday and usually win at "Wait, Wait! Don't Tell Me" as a result.
If you're reading my blog, I assume you have been thru the other parts of my website. I've received many complements on the website and have to share those kudos with Jay Williams who is my webmaster....and extremely patient with me and my lack of computer sophistication. I get the ideas and he builds on them and then does magical things with it and you see the results. That's the way a partnership should work!
I've come to the conclusion that as friendly as a website can be, it's still rather formal and there's stuff that just doesn't work there. Stuff like.....I love natural fiber fabrics; I'm experimenting with bamboo fabrics; wool is one of my favorites; I love the drape of bias and so much more.
So, thanks for stopping in and checking this "first", come back soon and hear about the latest goings on here at the Studio. I've got to go work with my wonderful high school interns right now.
